Loft Renovation/Addition -- TriBeCa, New York, NY -- Under Construction
The Beach Street Loft is a gut renovation and combination of two loft units inside a landmarked early 20th-century industrial loft building in Lower Manhattan. As closet space is difficult to come by in Manhattan, this residence makes storage a key element, integrating full-height millwork into nearly every vertical surface. Each and every hallway space is lined on both sides with ample storage cabinetry, allowing the clients to find a place for all of their belongings. As a young family of four, the home seeks to provide each family member with their own space of respite - a yoga room for Mom, a photo editing studio for Dad, and a playroom with multiple surfaces for the sons to build elaborate Lego worlds on. A light and bright material palette of bleached white oak and white Corian helps bring natural light deep into the rooms and creates a calm and peaceful space for the clients to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
